by: Kier Morrison

I was at the beach recently with a friend and our kids. The inevitable shop talk started up and during the conversation I was asked what I though of the new WWF file format. Not knowing too much about the format I decided some research was in order. At a basic level its a document format that does not allow [...]

Kyocera Mita Embedded Interface

by: Kier Morrison | in: BEAR News, Blogs, Development Team, From BEAR, Industry Insights, Product News/Updates | on: 08/02/2011

BEAR completed planning and review for the Kyocera Mita Embedded Interface for CMSIP using the Kyocera Hybrid Platform for Advanced Solutions (HyPAS) framework some time ago, however we were pleased when a recent version update came through. Due to the amount of development we have on at the moment we were a little behind with the development of the Kyocera Mita interface but its worked out well and we can now utilise the current version.

During specification review meetings (including the new version) we were really happy to see the release of a quality embedded interface – making our job even easier.

So our plan is to begin the development process and utilise much of the existing eCMSIP framework. Using the existing framework will allow faster development time and the inclusion of eCMSIP features including:

  • Account selection for users with more than one CMSIP account
  • Print Anyware integration for displaying follow me print documents including print one, print all and delete functions
  • Simple copy mode for fast simple copying
  • Copying, scanning and faxing to charging to personal or shared accounts for  grants, departments and other similar cost-center managed by CMSIP
  • Optional printing account selection at the user workstation via pop up or at Kyocera Mita MFD providing a zero client workstation installation option
  • Logon via card (USB proximity or magnetic stripe), network ID or CMSIP user ID
  • Add on the Fly user import allowing new users or users with new cards to register themselves and their card at the MFD
  • Feature restrictions and colour access control per user group

The task of developing the interface falls to George one of our embedded developers. George, with his background in embedded EFTPOS systems development for KeyCorp, has significant experience in developing BEAR embedded interfaces and is looking forward to working with the Kyocera Mita Embedded Interface

Stay tuned for a pending release.
